Frequently asked questions
In-home pet sitting is when a professional pet care provider comes to your home for scheduled visits and cares for your pets in their own environment while their family is away. The visits are tailored to meet the specific needs and routines of your pets. The sitter comes when and as often as you wish.
Sitters also care for the home while it's mostly unoccupied. We can take in your mail and packages, turn on/off interior and/or exterior lights, open/close blinds and curtains, water plants or garden, adjust any TVs or radios providing sound, and maintain a general flow within the home. We give your home a "lived in feel" which can help deter intruders. Sometimes we even discover possible issues that arise such as AC or water problems that can be swiftly addressed, mitigating any escalation that you would have to deal with in full force when you return home.
As comprehensive caregivers, our services consist of replenishing food and water, washing necessary dishes to accommodate feeding, supervising potty breaks, engaging in and supervising yard playtime, cleaning up and sanitizing any messes, preventing dogs from interacting with other dogs during walks for their safety, clean muddy paws before letting back inside, maintaining litter boxes, administering various medications, collecting mail or packages, ensuring safety and security of the home, and sharing it all with you through photos and a detailed report after each visit.
Our primary focus is on cats and dogs!
The cost for services can vary between each pet and circumstance. We have base rates on our Service pages, but ultimately it can vary depending on which service you need, the number of pets it's needed for, the duration and frequency, and possible mileage.
Definitely. For dogs, we require a minimum of two visits per day. However, we do recommend 3 visits a day due to their sociability and engagement needs. For cats, we require at least one visit per day, although two visits are optimal. They need companionship, fresh water regularly, and can get themselves into mischievous situations that may need intervention. This is for the safety and well-being of your animal, there are no exceptions. The duration of the visits can be at your discretion, but the frequency is what's necessary.
Friends, family, and neighbors mean well, but sometimes they can forget to check in routinely, miss the timing of a medication, or have a general lack of attention to detail that a professional pet sitter or walker has. After a couple days, it can begin to feel like more of an obligation rather than a favor. They may have something come up and aren't able to spend the quality time with your pets that they require or that you desire while you're gone.
We do this for a living. We continue to seek further education to pair with our experience so we can be well-informed and prepared for any scenario. We want to care for your animals and we love spending the needed time with them. We provide high-standard, top quality service with lots of communication throughout which will help you be at ease during your time away so you can focus on what's in front of you, wherever you are in the world.
Boarding is a great option for some dogs. Some dogs do well with it and are considered to enjoy it. However, as with any situation where there are many dogs in one indoor environment for a prolonged period of time, even at a high standards facility, boarding can naturally come with risks. Their comfort, physical health, and social well-being can all be at risk within a certain set of circumstances. For some dogs, even just a ride to the boarding facility can be stressful for them, not to mention it can be a hassle for you.
With Happy Days, you leave everything as is, saving you all the time and hassle, and we take care of the rest. It's the next best thing to having you there, with minimal disruption to their routines and comforts. One less thing to do when you return. You also have that added benefit of us caring for your home as well.
Yes. However, it is stated in our service agreement that we are released from responsibility for damaged/missing items or harm/poor care to your pet if services are shared or overlapping with someone else providing care in the same household.
Consistency is vital to providing the best possible care. While it's ideal for us to provide all the care during the entire period, we will agree to share the service with whomever you entrust. In addition to the release form, we also require that you provide us with the name and full contact information of the person we will be sharing care with. We ask that you do the same and provide them with our contact info. They can contact us 24/7 and should let us know at any time if they can't fulfill their part of the service. We will then take over entirely, immediately. The best interest of your pets and your home are our utmost concern. Communication is key to a successful experience.
You can fill out our contact form or call/text/email us directly. We will discuss what you need and go over any questions you have. If we decide to move forward, you will fill out some intake paperwork and once reviewed we will schedule our meet and greet.
A meet and greet consultation is required prior to the first service. The first meet and greet is complimentary, if any additional consultations are desired there is a fee of $25 for a 30 minute meeting. We are happy to accommodate these in our schedule.
Payment is due upon booking services, after the meet and greet.

We come to your home at our agreed upon scheduled time to be introduced to your animals, tour the home, and learn the necessary routines and requirements. You'll show us where the food, supplies, toys, sleeping spots, and any other important items are. We'll learn how they communicate with you and how you communicate with them so that we can have a seamless transition. You'll reiterate any special instructions we may need, we'll go over any questions, and then we will confirm the details such as dates, times, frequency, duration, services requested, and emergency plans.
After the consultation, you'll receive the intake paperwork. Once everything is signed and completed we'll confirm the booking on the schedule. Payment is due upon booking services. Please see our cancellation policy FAQ below.
As much as any small business owner, we appreciate notification of schedule changes and cancellations as soon as possible. A lot of time and coordination goes into maintaining a pet care service schedule and we work around every reservation held in our schedule to accommodate other requests. When you book our services, you have those time slots reserved just for you, taking away the availability for someone else. It is top priority that we provide the best experience possible to everyone. Therefore, the following cancellation policy applies to the entire balance of the reservation:
Payment is due upon booking
Policy structure is applied from time of service
Four or more days notice = 100% money back
4-2 days notice = 75% back on the first instance, 75% credited towards future service upon second instance and going forward
48 hours or less notice = No refund
Ex: Your scheduled service is on Friday the 7th at 10:00 am. If you inform of cancellation prior to 10:00 am on Monday the 3rd then you will be refunded 100% of your payment. If you inform of cancellation prior to 10:00 am on Wednesday the 5th then you will receive 75% back on the first occurrence, and going forward, if it reoccurs, you will be credited 75% towards a future service. If you inform of cancellation after 10:00 am on Wednesday the 5th there is no refund.
As everyone knows, extenuating circumstances happen; emergencies and weather issues are always considered and determined individually.
You will receive an auto reminder email one week prior to start of service, that is the perfect opportunity to evaluate and confirm your details. Be sure to inform us within the next 72 hours after receiving that email if anything changes or if you need to cancel and you will receive a full refund.
We all work hard for our money, we don't want to have to keep yours for preventable reasons, so let's work together to make sure that doesn't happen.
We acknowledge the 7 (9 with "eves") federally recognized primary holidays. These days have an added rate of $5 per visit.
- Easter Sunday
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Eve & Christmas Day
- New Years Eve & New Years Day
We are committed to the excellent care of your pets. Should they become sick or injured, we will be in communication with you and follow the procedures that were discussed during our complimentary meet and greet consultation as well as stated in the service agreement paperwork.
No. We will walk up to two dogs from the same household at one time upon approval, usually in their immediate neighborhood. This is for the safety of everyone involved.
You will receive a text or message through our app with a detailed report and photos after every visit. We are always available to take your calls or texts in addition to our sent communications.
As native Oklahoman's, we watch the weather constantly and plan accordingly. We will not walk in extremely high or low temps or when there is a high chance of severe storms. We will address and communicate this with as much lead time as possible and will coordinate the schedule for accommodation.
Absolutely. Norman has a leash law that we abide. Although your dog may be off-leash trained (congrats by the way!) it's our strict policy to always have them leashed while in our care outside of your home or enclosed yard. This will ensure our control over any unforeseen problems that may arise in a split second.
